Tropilaelaps is established in Western Russia

Our next big Honey Bee health fear is of course the Tropilaelaps mite. Natural spread is expected but with our local, regional, country and Global travel and supply chain just like Varroa spread Tropilaelaps will as well.

In a recent research paper it is documented, that “in 2021, high losses of honey bee colonies occurred in the Krasnodar region, Western Russia (53%) with clinical symptoms and mite morphology.”
